"The Browne's foray into slower living in Whatcom County is an enjoyable read. Their delightful, yet very real, experiences in making the big leap toward their dreams make for a humorous and charming book." ...Washington State Librarian Jan Walsh

"A delightful account." ...The Bellingham Herald

How did one Irish-American novelist come to write Irish stories, then turn up on a little farm…and write a memoir about it? Here's Susan's story! For more Irish fun, check out her list of her favorite Irish books and movies, including recent novels from Marian Keyes and Maeve Binchy, and a transcendent picture book, "The Wee Christmas Cabin of Carn-na-ween."

News and Workshops...

Susan recently appeared at the inaugural Chuckanut Writer's Conference to present “Show Me the Money: Self-Publishing Dollars and Sense,” lead a morning journaling session, and participate in a non-fiction author panel. All this takes place at Whatcom Community College, Bellingham, Washington. Watch for an update here about next year's conference!

In July, Susan teaches Summer Creative Writing Camp at WCC, Wednesdays the 13th and 20th! For more information, visit Susan's Classes and Workshops page.

And more book news... The Curse of the Corpse Bride, Susan's new Middle Grade "novelette" is available as a free ebook!

Morgan has chosen the coolest costume ever... a dead bride. But when she finds a strange fortune-telling machine at the mall on Halloween, she has no way of knowing that she has encountered some powerful magic... and entered a world where her Halloween costume has become all too real. Will Morgan and her best friend Claire be able to break the spell? Or is Morgan doomed to be cursed by the Corpse Bride forever?

Susan's next novel is another Irish comedy-drama, Mother Love. Like It Only Takes Once, Mother Love is a story of love, friendship, and family, and features an unforgettable heroine, Grainne Larkin. Grainne's a bit of a Scarlett O'Hara with baby hunger... and here's a preview.

You'll find new items in Susan's potpourri of Irish books and films... including three great DVDs: two movies with a paranormal flavor, "Ondine" starring Colin Farrell, and "The Eclipse" featuring Ciaran Hinds, and a delightful Amy Adams romantic comedy. Turn on the telly and start the popcorn!
