Bio Susan Colleen Browne is the author of a memoir, Little Farm in the Foothills: A Boomer Couple's Search for the Slow Life, and a novel set in Ireland, It Only Takes Once. A WCC creative writing instructor for 10 years, Susan Colleen Browne presents a variety of writing and creativity programs at many regional conferences and events, including the Pacific Northwest Writer's Association Conference (www.pnwa.org), the Emerald City Writer's Conference (www.gsrwa.org), the "Write on the Beach" conference in Ocean Shores, and Western Washington University's Woodring College Extension Program. Susan's freelance credits include Succeed magazine, The Seattle Times, and Women as Managers. As a book columnist for The Bellingham Business Journal, she has interviewed authors like Redbook columnist and personal coach Laura Berman Fortgang, best-selling spiritual writer Marsha Sinetar, and Mark Bryan, co-founder of "The Artist's Way" workshops. The founder of Whitethorn Press, Susan is the current president of Whatcom Writers and Publishers (www.whatcomwritersand publishers.org) and is also an Advisory Group Member for the Chuckanut Writers Conference (www.chuckanutwritersconference.com), June 24-25, 2011. Susan
was nominated as a Western Washington University Writing Fellow,
1992, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Huxley College
of the Environment. Her memoir, Little Farm in the Foothills,
was recently selected for the Washington State Library's Summer
2010 Reads booklist. |
